This is just a suggestion...so please don't jump on me by saying, 'this topic was already covered here or there etc....you need to read the topics in the forums etc..'. I understand all that, believe me. But, my suggestion is: My personal opinion is that I love Hide-My-IP. But, when I recently(about a month ago) purchased the 2009 version I've had alot of problems. Probably due to the fact that I really don't understand how to set the Premium Settings...AND...I think that there should be a section of steps on how to do so. I "try" my best..and I'm NOT computer illiterate(until this came along! LoL!!) But, when I set it up the way I "think" it should be & go about my merry way of surfing or chatting etc. I can't get the 2009 Premium settings to cooperate. I started out with the 2007 version and had no problems with it! But, with 2009, I(for instance), go into chat and it won't connect me. I have to UNhide...reconnect to chat & then REhide. If I try to click on profiles? I have to do the same thing. I even have problems with Windows Live Messenger(I run version 8.5, for now). I can't sign in if I'm running Hide-My-IP! I have to sign in & then REhide...and even then, most of the time it won't allow me to SEND msg's but "sometimes" it'll let me RECIEVE msg's. I've tried different settings, etc...but can't EVER use it without any problems. I CAN'T FIGURE IT OUT!! It's getting very FRUSTRATING to say the least dry.gif !! So, if there is someone out there willing to help me? I'd deeply appreciate it! I'm running a brand new HP Pavilion dv7-1448dx Laptop. I want the protection of Hide-My-IP! But, it makes no sense to keep paying for the Premium Service if I CAN'T use my new laptop WITH it!! HELP!!??!!??

Please review this link for the proper settings for the 2009 version of Hide My IP. The encryption check off is the reason you were getting "white pages" from certain web sites: http://www.hide-my-ip.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=753

If you continue to have a problem with the encryption setting, the fix is here: To Fix Errors About an Ordinal Error (Encryption)

Step 1. Close Hide My IP by right clicking the Hide My IP task tray icon and go to Exit.

Step 2. Download and install the file , Microsoft Visual C++ 2008, from the link below.
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...;displaylang=en

Step 3. Download and install OpenSSL from the link below.
http://www.slproweb.com/download/Win32Open...ight-0_9_8k.exe

Step 4. Run Hide My IP.

The above directions are also located at this URL: http://www.hide-my-ip.com/o.shtml

You can find the help file for the software by going to All Programs >>> Hide My IP 2009 >>> Hide My IP 2009 Help
