I was just reading Doug's post about torrent i think its very silly with netflix and http://the-movie-downloading.com/ which are both paid sites. Why would someone risk going to jail when there are subscription services out there that are legal. I hope this isn't a stupid post. I just think its very nice for Doug750 to watch out for all of us. Not only is torrents illegal its very silly try netflix i think its the best.

As with all socialist governments that provide for a "nanny-state", citizens come to believe that they have a certain sense of "entitlement". To take from the perceived "rich" and give to the perceived "poor" becomes a way of life for many people under socialist rule. Torrent program users, who use those programs for the purpose of improperly using copyrighted material (and hence theft of another's artistic work) may be: 1. Unable to understand the consequences of their actions or 2. thieves or 3. socialists or 4. all of the above But as another post in this string suggests, and I agree with, torrent programs will be here for a long time. -------------------- Doug

On the Subject of torrents, i was searching around today and i bumped into our old friend "Thepiratebay.org" , and i was just thinking, why spend so much money prosecuting the indivuals who made the site, yet it is left up and running.
I clicked on just to view it (No really i did ><) and thought hell, why not search for the latest programme/game and see if this little demon still has some life, shortly after i typed in "Red Faction" and in no time at all, the latest red faction game release had being dregged to the surface. So after all this, and all this prosecuting, they have acomplished nothing, yes a few people are in jail, but the site is still there, offering its services to all that require them, QUOTE cut off the head and another one will always grow back. I could'nt agree more, it's just not possible to stop torrents, maybe people should just accept it, does all this really get results, or is flandering money around in the middle of a financial crisis just pushing them furthur from the goal, Well, Rant over i guess (: G -------------------- Move without a Trace, Leave nothing behind,

Oh man, with the lawsuits, harassment, arrests, jail time - anyone who uses one of those things to download copyrighted material is just asking for it. There's no way I would be caught using Torrents, or any other P2P system. No matter how safe they think they are, there is always someone, somewhere who is smarter than the last guy and they will always get caught - always.
