I'm trying to prevent my ISP from snooping in my pc. However, when I enable "encrypted connection" - It does not connect to anything, including 3rd party apps such as messangers. I do not blame the owner of the software, I too am a programmer and understand not ever flaw can be worked out. My question here is; what other software/tools will prevent ISP snooping/sniffing. I have an installed firewall (kaspersky 2009/activated), however, i still feel unprotected. I'm a geek at Anti-Spyware/malware removal, thats not the problem, I just want to prevent being snooped.


1) How do I prevent ISP snooping
2) If I change my MAC address - Will my ISP no longer recognise me as a user from them?
3) What other ways will keep me anonymous?

To Fix Errors About an Ordinal Error (Encryption)

Step 1. Close Hide My IP by right clicking the Hide My IP task tray icon and go to Exit.

Step 2. Download and install the file , Microsoft Visual C++ 2008, from the link below.

Step 3. Download and install OpenSSL from the link below.

Step 4. Run Hide My IP.

Its a bit slower with encryption on, but a supose a great improvement. Where else could I learn about proxies & vpn's? I want to know as much about staying anonymous as possibly.
