Full Version: Why Am I Forced Into Legacy Mode?
My Privacy Tools Forums > My Privacy Tools - Advanced Settings for HMIP > Enable Legacy Mode

I have your program on my desktop computer and it works fine. I just bought the regular program for my laptop and it keeps giving me an error that something is missing and then sticks me in legacy mode. First of all, what is it? When it says enable other known browsers, what does that mean? What are "other known browsers"? I guess the bottom line for me is this... I have a couple of ebay/paypal accounts and they can't know about each other. I use Mozilla to access these sites. I also use your Hide IP program to make sure they can't detect my ip address. Will the legacy mode still hide me completely so they don't know it's me? I delete all cookies before accessing them everytime. So with what I need is the legacy mode taking care of that? Any help on this will be much appreciated. Thanks!

For an explanation on Legacy Mode, review this post: http://www.hide-my-ip.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=671

Enable other known browsers means exactly that. HMIP works with many browsers that are not in the icons at the top of that page so that check off covers any of the others that HMIP is compatible with.

Best not to use Legacy Mode with eBay or Pay Pal.
