It sounds like you upgraded to Firefox 3.5
You can press ALT, CNTRL, DEL at the same time. Bring up the Task Manager; highlight the Applications and click end.

I have the same problem. Does the problem lie with Firefox or HMIP? If the latter, is a fix in the works?

Thanks

All of our engineers and techs have the latest version of Firefox. We can't duplicate this problem using the default settings in Firefox and Hide My IP. The conclusion is that default settings in Firefox have been changed creating this situation.

Best thing to do is before you go on the internet make sure you have hide my ip running already then go on and you should not have that problem , if your switching ips then you might see the proxy box at the bottom , but rule of thumb in my opinion , is once you have the ip service running theres really no reason to switch it , _? but thats just my opinion , but if you do switch out ips are you clearing your cookies?
