I just bought "Hide My IP" today, Saturday, May 3. 2008 after trying it for the three day trial period, I like the product and it dose what it says it will which I like, however when I paid for the "Hide My IP" ($39.95) along with the "Unlock Code Protection" ($2.95) and the Backup CD ($8.95) for a grand total of $51.85 I was supplied with an UNLOCK KEY CODE that does not work when entered.

All I get is a window message informing e that the KEY CODE that I entered is INVALID and as you might well expect I am not at all pleased spending half a hundred and getting this unusable UNLOCK KEY CODE, where is the "Unlock Code Protection" I paid the $2.95 for?

Of course it's Saturday and I can not call for any assistance in this matter because "Hide My IP" is only a Monday through Friday business plus there seems to be NO SUPPORT for the users of "Hide My IP" unless it is for the Pmium Srvice, So, guess I will just have to wait until Monday to get a WORKING UNLOCK KEY CODE from "Hide My IP",......no the way I would expect to start off with this new software,,........BUMMER !

The reason why you're getting an "invalid key" response is because you have somehow downloaded the wrong version of Hide My IP into your computer. You have downloaded v1.9 and not the version you purchased (2008).

Please uninstall that version of Hide My IP from your computer.
Reboot (restart) your computer.
Then install Hide My IP from this download link: http://www.hide-my-ip.com/hidemyip.exe

Thanks Doug_but I can not install 'Hide My IP / 2008" on this PC because I only have a Windows 98 SE operating system, I need the UNLOCK KEY CODE FOR THE V1.9 version of "HIDE MY IP".

Even at the link you provided I can NOT download the "2008", when I try to download it I am redirected back to a v1.9 "Hide My IP" download automatically, this is what I get when trying to use your link to download "2008",....

This is no doubt why I got the v1.9 version to begin with.

Ok_just tried that and all I got was the following message,....

"Downgrade to Hide My IP 1.9

If you have upgraded to Hide My IP 2007 and want to go back to version 1.9, enter your license key below.

Your Hide My IP key may not be downgraded because it was never upgraded."

I don't get this electronic crap, I'm getting very frustrated with NOT being able to get an UNLOCK KEY CODE for this version of "Hide My IP", can I just cancel my order, get my money refunded and forget all about this "Hide My IP" software, obviously, at least from my vantage point it is not worth all the trouble I'm going through to get it.

Tom, my sincere apologies. In my rush to get you a v1.9 key code, I made a recommendation that was not correct. A person cannot alter a v2008 key in the manner I suggested. I have the ability to issue that code right away.

But since you've requested a refund, if you still feel that way, I'll have one issued. If you still want a v1.9 key code, I'll issue one as soon as I read that you've given the word.

Just let me know what you want to do.

Hi Doug_Hey, I'm willing to give it one more try and I appreciate all that you have been doing to help me get the proper UNLOCK KEY CODE, there seems to be a COMEDY of errors taking place, none of which are your fault or mine, there tripping us both up and that's what is so frustrating.

So, if you want to send me that UNLOCK KEY CODE I'll put it in and see if this thing will fly, if it doesn't, well THEN I'll go for the refund, OK?

Hi Doug_Well, after working all day I came home and found your EMAILS, I did exactly as you asked stp by step, once the new v1.9 version of 'Hide My IP" was installed I entered the UNLOCK KEY CODE that you sent and got the same woindow that says that the code I entered is NOT VALID.

I thought about smashing my PC but then thought better of that, how would I make this post if I did that? LOL.

So, per my email reply I will be expecting that my payment will be refunded to my credit card account ASAP as I think we are done here.

Actually, your order was voided. Because you had problems from the start, your order was never "approved" and no money taken out of your account. We waited until the situation could be resolved before doing anything.
