Full Version: A few question about the 2008 version

MirrorMan
First of all, this seems like a really awesome product, so thanks!

Here are my questions:

I bought the 'Standard' version for $39.95, and no monthly charges. I know that there's also a "Premium" service with a monthly fee, but i didn't get this. However, when I open the program and click on "Advanced Settings", there is a tab called "Premium Service" that allows you to change a few settings. does this mean that I actually did get the Premium version, because I'm sure that I didn't. This is a bit confusing to me so maybe you can clarify it.

Also: As a kind of test, out of curiosity i used the program to generate about ten random IPs in the US, and I typed each one into a whois program I have so I could see the geographic location of that IP address. I got a few cities, like San Diego and a city in NJ, but most of the time I got this message:

No Default Regional Internet Registry was found for IP
Address. This may mean the IP Address has not yet been allocated to
any RIR, and should not be used on the Internet.

what does this mean?

When you purchase the basic version of Hide My IP, you automatically receive a free, 3 day trial to our Premium Service.

A Regional Internet Registry (RIR) is a governing body that is responsible for the administration of Internet addresses in a specific geographic region. Typically, an RIR has a mandate to control the allocation and distribution of IP addresses and domain registrations. All of our IP's are registered properly but governing bodies are not necessarily caught up with the paperwork.
