Today every time I turn on hidemyip all of a sudden my net becomes sluggishly terribly horribley slow makes it impossible to do anything as simple as browsing the net -- this is the premium service i am referring to
and yes I looked at the twitter and see no updates or nothing regarding this running slow

Maybe your server is slow on it's own , try to restart your pc .

you might also try changing proxies. Sometimes mine gets really slow, too and i will change the proxy and then close firefox and restart it and the speed is back.
