Dear everyone,

I'd like to post a message concerning the relationship between Hide my IP address and Hide my MAC address.

As is known to all of us, each time we change the MAC address, ISP will distribute to us a new IP address. Although the MAC add. is fake, the IP add. is real. So, in this case, is it still necessary to change the IP add., pls.? Is the hacker still able to attack my PC without our changing the IP add.? Do we need to change MAC add. each time we surf the internet, or simply once, since it's already a fake one, pls.?

Thanking all in advance.

Vincent

In computer networking, a Media Access Control address (MAC address) or Ethernet Hardware Address (EHA) is an address—typically made up of numbers and letters-- assigned to your hardware that uniquely identifies it’s place on the network. In a network, the MAC address is a unique number that identifies a specific hardware interface. It is a 12-digit hexadecimal number.

Hide My MAC Address software does not hide the IP address of a Mac Computer, but spoofs the MAC Address of your Media Access Control address. It can only be installed on approved, compatible Windows based Operating Systems.

As described at this page (http://www.hide-my-ip.com/hidemymacaddress.shtml) on our website:
You can hide your MAC Address from hackers, government agencies, your ISP, WiFi networks and online games. Anyone with the right tools can track your Internet activity if they know your MAC Address. Public Wireless Access Points are all over, some less secure then others. Every time you open you laptop, it automatically attempts to contact to wireless networks, regardless if you use WEP/WPA Encryption. Fool MAC-based ACLs (Access Control Lists) by cloning the MAC address of a computer that is already authorized to use a WiFi network.

Personally I would say: connect the iMac directly to the TV via HDMI/DVI cable.

But for that it would be best to have the iMac in the same room.

Also if you add up the costs for an uPnP player you might consider a mac mini under the TV?
