Hi, I want to know if hide my id is perfectly legal. I am from the U.K. and I wanted to watch a video from the mtv website but it stated copyrights resticts the video being showen out the U.S. when i click on it. So what I want to know is, am i braking the law by watching this video and am I braking the law by using a fake ip address.

We're not attorney's but to the best of our knowledge, there is nothing illegal about hiding your IP address. Like anything else, it is what you do with the software that can make the use illegal (such as commiting fraud and hiding your IP in order to commit that fraud).

As for the Copyright notice, I would speculate that the copyright provision they're talking about may prevent that website from deliverately showing the TV show to IP's other than USA IP's.

That's my point I do not live in the U.S. im hiding my ip so would I be braking the law by watching the video's and when it says fake ip in uses am i using some one's ip address in the U.S. or is the fake ip im using made up.

This is just my opinion, but it is unlikely you would be breaking English law.

And the IP's that are used with the Hide My IP service are IP addresses that are owned by the company.

There is absolutely nothing wrong/illegal about Hide My IP.
