When a reputable software program doesn't work, there are usually 4 reasons why this occurs:

1. The software was corrupted in the download/install process, not installed correctly or was not configured correctly
2. The software wasn't designed to do what the user expects it to do. This usually means the user didn't understand the limitations of the program.
3. There may be another program in that user's computer preventing the proper use of the software (i.e. anti-virus program or firewall blocking the program or a virus in the computer or another, poorly programmed piece of software interferring with the proper execution of another software program)
4. The user's operating platform (i.e Windows, Linux) is too old; too outdated orlacks a required system component that is not there, or the computer itself is a poor "custom built" job.

In order to properly understand why a software program is not working, it is very important for the user to provide as much detail as possible when the user was attempting to use the software.

Without these kinds of details, to simply say a software program "doesn't work" does not solve the problem.

This forum is designed to assist others who may have questions, concerns or comments about the software. A comment that a software program "doesn't work" is simply not constructive and does not help us resolve the issue. biggrin.gif

I get its my computer fault not the program doesnt work like you claim it will.
I have wind XP pro

hide-my-ip-is-GARBAGE
I ordered this product, I installed it CORRECTLY, my system is as up to date as it needs to be and I payed MONEY for a piece of GARBAGE THAT DOES NOT WORK. All I ever get is a message saying "Searching for an available IP" .... and for several minutes. Then later on after I thought I shut the program off, some weird shaped thing shows up on my monitor with another message about it not finding an IP and to try again later. What kind of crap is this anyway???

Obviously multiple people have had the same trouble. Therefore the losers at Hide-my-ip need to get there act together and get these problems straightened out. Unless of course their only intention is to get money from people who Hide my IP knows is going to have trouble with their garbage product.

I requested a cancelation of their lame program, but they want some stupid code to be entered in order to do that. Also I requested a refund, but that's never going to happen. Hide my IP is all about giving people the 'run around' and not delivering a good product. Just so they get your money.

If just one person sees my post before they waste their money on this product, then great.

Failure to connect to the database can be caused by any number of reasons, not the least of which is a virus in a person's computer or the inability to install the program correctly or simply the unwillingness to follow tech support suggestions.

If the program is turned off correctly, there are no "weird shaped thing"(s) that appear on a person's computer. If properly turned off, there is no reason for a connection to the database to be searching for an IP.

The "stupid code" is the unlock Key Code that a person is provided in order to unlock the basic program or to order the Premium Service. In order to cancel the Premium Service that Key Code is necessary, for security reasons, to make sure that the correct Premium Service subscription is being cancelled.

Please write to staff@hide-my-ip.com with your Trouble Ticket number, we'll be happy to review the email support you received and, if necessary, escalate the problem to our Level 2 Technitions (who are the actual software programmers). Also, if you are having difficulty cancelling the Premium Service, please write to staff@hide-my-ip.com with the email address you gave us at the time of purchase and, again, we'll be happy to assist you in that area as well.

Thank you for allowing us to assist you.

There are a couple of reasons why this can occur. Some of the reasons depend on whether you're using the trial version as we only assign one IP to that version and many pulling on the same IP address.

Your location is another factor in the equation and sometimes we may have to re-set your link to the database. If you're still having a problem with this, write to:
staff/hide-my-ip.com ( / = @ ) and we'll try to assist you.
