Suddenly today when running Firefox 3.04 and Hide My IP 2007 the default home page has changed to Switzerland from UK. Without HMIP running the home page is correct at the UK. HMIP is set to a US address. All attempts to switch to Google.com fail. The problem is that Google set cookies which can identify the pc.
Is this a Google trick or something odd in HMIP?
Google has a bag full of tricks!

There are a few reasons why this might occur:
1. The Open Network IP system is not ours. We have no control over it. Our software gives you access to it when properly checked under "Advanced Settings"
If you have checked the box "Allow Open Network IP Addresses" this seeting will get IP addresses from all over the world, but may slow your browser and may make sites like Google.com come up in a foreign language or from a foreign country.
2. Check your browser settings at these locations:
- For Internet Explorer:
a. Go to Tools, Internet Options, click the Connections tab, click the "LAN Settings..." button, and uncheck "Use a proxy server for your LAN".
- For FireFox:
1. Bring up Firefox
2. Select tools
3. Select options
4. Select Advanced
5. Select Network
6. Select Settings
7. Select No Proxy (and should be the only item checked in that window)
8. Select OK on each window and exit Firefox completely
9. Re-start Firefox and the issue should be resolved.
- For Opera:
a. Go to Tool, Preferences, Advanced tab, click Network, Proxy Servers, make sure there is no information anywhere and all are unchecked.
