I have been an HMIP user on and off for several years. I don't understand why HMIP doesn't come up some sort of scheme to allow people who have 2 or 3 computers in their home to pay more for a single license that is valid on all computers within their homes instead of purchasing multiple licenses. Let's face it, in these economic times purchasing multiple licenses is a financial hassle and a downer to say the least. How about cutting us a break. I can live with one license on one computer and I will not pay for additional licenses, but I would certainly be willing to pay an upgrade fee for using the product on the 3 computers within my home. Has anyone thought about this idea? Thanks.
The issue regarding discounted prices is something that has a high priority with the developers-owners. Because of the technical configuration of the software, it would be difficult to allow the same key code to be installed on multiple computers if purchased at a discounted price.
However, they are looking into packaging deals whereby if you bought the first HMIP, then you could have the option of purchasing additional key codes at a discount. But as I said, these are in the discussion arena at this time and no hard decisions have been made. They are looking at a timetable whereby possibly when Hide My IP 2009 is released, they would offer some type of economy or discounted packages. "Bundled" packages at a discount.
In the meantime, we have a small Pilot Program we've been working on to see what type of response it generates. The Pilot Program does offer a discount on a 2nd (or subsequent) purchase of Hide My IP if you have already purchased at least one copy of the software. Please write to staff@hide-my-ip.com for more details.
