Any software that needs to access the Internet also needs to have an IP address, this includes your browser.

Many third party applications such as instant messaging programs, ad blasters and program downloads from gambling sites, require an IP address in order to access the Internet.

The Hide My IP software program that has the Basic Service or Standard Service hides your IP when you are using your browser to visit or view other websites. The visited websites see the IP that our program has provided you, and not your real IP.

The Hide My IP software program that has the Basic Service or Standard Service does not hide your IP when it is turned on and you are also using other (non-browser) third party applications.

Only our Premium Service can do that, as outlined below.

The Hide My IP Premium Service is an add-on feature to the Basic Service and software.

With the Premium Service you will have the ability to not only hide your IP when using your browser (our basic software takes care of that) but you will also have the ability to hide your IP when using approved 3rd party applications.

CAUTION: If you are only using our Basic or Standard Service while trying to use third party applications, your IP is *not* hidden when you are using those third party applications. Under these circumstances, the 3rd party applications may reveal your real IP even though it is being hidden in your browser by our software.

If you need to use other (non-browser) third party applications while visiting websites, chatting or doing other things, and you need to have your IP completely hidden, you must make certain of the following:
1. That you have subscribed to our Premium Service (by the month, quarter, half-year or year).
2. That the third party application is on our compatibility list.
3. You can view that list at this link:

4. That the third party application is checked off under Advanced Settings >> Premium Service tab of our software
5. If the 3rd party application you need to use is not on our Compatability List, then you can request that it be added to our list by going to this URL:
