This is the message I get when I try to turn on Hide IP...I don't know how to fix it in Options-Connections-Settings....etc.

Anybody know why this might be happening and what I can do to prevent it???

Sounds like you're using Firfox and your connection settings are set on "Manual".
To correct the issue, do this, depending on your Firefox version:

Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Settings. Then simply tick a ‘No Proxy’.

OR ...
Tools > Options > Advanced : Network : Connection : "Direct connection to the internet"

^^^I am indeed on firefox. I followed your instructions and ticked "no proxy"...then, I clicked the "HIDE IP" button at the bottom of my browser and when it said "HIDE IP ON" in the color green...I tried surfing and again got the

"PAGE LOAD ERROR"

Proxy Server Refused Connection

Firefox is configured to use a proxy server that is refusing connections.

The browser is configured to use a proxy server, but the proxy refused a connection.

* Is the browser's proxy configuration correct? Check the settings and try again.
* Does the proxy service allow connections from this network?
* Still having trouble? Consult your network administrator or Internet provider for assistance.

Presuming you're using the latest version of Firefox, you need to be certain that "No Porxy" is checked and and then click "OK".
For some reason, there is a configuration in your Firefox that thinks it must look for a proxy server.

When go into Firefox settings and switch to "No Proxy" while my "HIDE IP" is "ON"...As soon as I save the settings...my HIDE IP automatically turns OFF when I have switched the settings to "No Proxy"...Then, when I try to turn on HIDE IP again...it automatically switches my proxy settings to look for a proxy server? Any ideas?

A clearification here:

If you have a standard Internet connection (T1 line; cable; DSL or dial up) and you're using the latest version of Firefox, then "No Proxy" should always be checked, whether you're using Hide My IP or not.

That setting in Firefox is designed for either other applications (not Hide My IP) or your Internect connection (ISP or local LAN set up) requires that you first go through a proxy before traveling the Internet.

With Hide My IP you should never have to re-configure any default settings in any (current) browser you have.

Ok, BUT, for some reason "HIDE IP" only remains on when Firefox is set up to look for a proxy server. The second I turn the settings to "No Proxy"...HIDE IP automatically turns off.

When I try to turn HIDE IP on...the settings in firefox automatically switch...Ever encountered this before?
