The Level 2 Programmers have been alerted to this situation.
They will be testing the issue and will hopefully have results by this coming Monday.
We apologize for the inconvenience.

Exactly the same problem - worked everytime on the free trial and for the first few days on the paid version - I am now suffering from "24" withdrawal symptoms

I deeply sympathize with "24" fans! Pretty good show this week but I think Jack will end up living, at least until the season ends.

Anyway, I've asked for another update on this and I hope to have some resolution for you all soon.

Sorry if this is repetitive, but have the same problem....trial version worked fine, licensed product (originally the 2008 version and then I even updated to 2009) doesn't go through abc in my case.
What's the status?, are you guys resolving it?.....

I agree - but do we know if the premium service works still works?

i couldnt get it to work on premium.

i have never used this before so i have a question for the posters of this thread.
did abc and fox recently switch to a new player?
the site led me to believe they did, which brings me to my point.
there is alot of whining going on here.
some of you do not bother to find out the cause of the problem before saying things like this "after paying $30 for a programe that wont work".
hmip works fine, its fox and abc that changed.

I don't think that Fox has changed its players as when I first installed the trial version of hmip I had to download their player and I haven't had any new downloads but, hey, I'm not a computer expert. I also used NBC and it was perfect for the first few days now it plays (just) but is very very jumpy and ABC just hangs and doesn't load but no message. I'm not whining I would just like the program and/or the players to work.
Caroline
QUOTE (smoke0077 @ May 5 2009, 11:56 PM) *
i have done a bit of research into fox specificly.
they asked me to install the "new" player, not sure when the new player was implemented but this does seem to be the root of the problem.

i have also been monitoring this issue with hmip staff (Doug) and was informed that they are working on the problem and hope to have it resolved asap.
there was/is a minor delay as their efforts had to be redirected into the ip server status issue temporarily.

Thanks for your patience on this matter

I'm not nagging but is there any news yet??

Nothing so far, but they are working on it and doing their best to see how to make it work.
It is not your "normal" executable program and requires a difference research and resolution approach.

Hi Doug
I have just installed the trial version of HMIP on a new laptop and visited Fox's site as a test, downloaded their player and everything works. Is there any way that you can allow those of us that have purchased HMIP to run on the trial version until this problem has been resolved. It seems strange that it works on the trial but not on the full version.

We believe that we've found a resolution to this issue. But it is in beta testing. If you wish to help along, write to staff@hide-my-ip.com and we'll make some suggestions and request that you reply with the results.

We don't know what you mean by "all the sites" but this post has generally proven to be very helpful and successfull when the directions are followed exactly.
Doug750
I think it's only a 100% fair that if you buy a program for this purpose it does what is supposed to do.
You said over a month ago that you were in Betatesting and would have results soon, where are they?

Under Fox's old method of delivering video, because the method was browser based, Hide My IP worked fine.
When they changed the method of delivery to its current system, HMIP cannot be held accountable when another website decides to adopt a delivery methodology that is outside the scope of our software.

The software engineers are doing their best to work on this issue.

Just wanted to add that Hulu stopped working too

"Based on your ip adress, we detected that you are trying to access Hulu via an anonymous proxy tool. Hulu is currently not available outside the US"...

The death of the program?

In Europe you hardly receive hulu only for a minute or so. It's hopeless to watch it does not matter which IP you use.

Hulu is having a lot of growing pains. In time, I'm sure they'll be a maturely programmed service that all can enjoy while using Hide My IP.

Has anyone gotten this straightened out yet. I

have followed every single piece of advice...cleared cookies, etc..I've cleared EVERYTHING. I am unable to watch Hulu. Tonite I wanted to watch a clip about the MVA awards, and it said no, go not in your country...Canada... At that time, I didn't have Hide my IP running (I didn't know this site would have not allowed Canadian viewing). I did all my steps etc...started Hide My IP went back in and everything was OK. So it's obvious my Hide MY IP is working fine. BUT HULU just doesn't seem to want to work. I've tried everything.

I'm unable to call for support due to my schedule and time differences etc (weekend reallly my only chance) so if anyone out there has a solution, please please let me know. Hulu was really the only reason I wanted Hide My Ip in the first place.

thanks!!

As other posts on this forum have indicated, HULU is unstable. It sometimes works with Hide My IP (or any hide ip software) and sometimes it thinks it is detecting an IP from another country when it is not. Its IP database may not be completely and regularly updated.

Can I make a suggestion based on all of this feedback, and perhaps I can speak of behalf of most of us here, but we did pay for a product that really isn't working the way it is supposed to, you have to at least admit that. If I'm not mistaken, the subscription to HMIP is a year (I think that's what I paid for)... most of the year has been (sorry to be blunt) but wasted. Perhaps HMIP can extend our subscriptions by a year as a measure of good faith and to retain us as customers for the long haul. I would think with all the problems we've experienced, it is likely that when each of us expire, we won't be renewing. But if HMIP is genuinely trying to fix this problem, don't you think we all deserve a working for product for a period of a year that we already paid for? If this was a broken MP3 player that worked when we bought it, and then it broke....we'd be returning it. Can you see where I'm coming from? I just think it would be the right thing to do, as well as the smart thing to do.

Thanks for listening.

When they changed the method of delivery to its current system, HMIP cannot be held accountable when another website decides to adopt a delivery methodology that is outside the scope of our software.

- Your purchase of Hide My IP for 29.95 gives you access to our Basic system for life, not one year.
- When Fox changed their methodology of delivering video content, we have never represented that Hide My IP works with that system.
- Their software system is not our Compatibility List

There is nothing to "fix" as nothing has been broken. While we are trying to make Hide My IP compatible with that delivery methodology, we've never represented that HMIP works with their system.

Farmz
See all your points Doug, and agree with what you have said.
Not your fault that Fox changed their method of delivery.
Is there any hope from your techs that they are getting anywhere in being able to make Hide My IP 2010 compatible with FOX?

The engineers and programmers would like nothing more than to be able to find a way to resolve this issue. I can safely tell anyone who is reading this post that resolving this issue is a very high priority with them.
