i mostly use this program for downloading an ive used it for about 2 years now an ive never had a problem where it looses connection while im downloading, the file will get about half way then the connection will drop, i was just wondering if it was a problem with my computer or with the program. i was using version 2008 when it started doing it about a week ago an i unistalled an put the 2009 version in an im still having the same problems. any help would be very appreciated, thanks in advance. once again sorry if this topic was already posted.

no need to be sorry were happy to help... we are going to need a bit more information about your setup and any changes you have made to hmip, along with your browser, windoze version, and files you were trying to download......

i havent made any changes to my setup between the times that the program was working fine an the time it started loosing the connections on the downloads, i leave everything pretty much on default. i use IE 7 an i have XP pro an the files i download are usually on any hosting sites like megaupload, rapidshare, ect. also no matter what the location is i pick on hmip the downloads wont complete.

i seen in another post where an admin said they were tweaking the servers alittle an i was wondering if that is what would be cause the problem with the downloading, cause when i use my regular ip the files download perfectly fine. thanks again for the help

It seems that you may be downloading huge files and downloading with a torrent program. It would be important if you could explain all of that so we can give you a more accurate answer.

the files are usually around 700mb at the most an i just use plain old internet explorer to download, i dont have any torrent programs installed on my computer. the files usually stop downloading like when you lose your internet connect an they just save to your computer without downloading all the way. i think it stops the file like 20 minutes into the download like another person posted on another topic i read an i think Doug told him it might have been happening cause they were tweaking the servers alittle bit, so i was just wondering if yall might be still tweaking them an thats what might be causing the issue.

Without knowing what these files are; or knowing what IP addresses you are using, realize that:
1. You're causing your signal to run through a proxy server (ours) that may be faster then the server you're downloading from, causing time out issues
2. The further away the IP address is from the site you're downloading from, the more likely you are going to have "time out" issues
3. Your own computer's processing speed and Internet connection speed are also all factors to this issue.

i usually use whatever ips the program is giving me, the files are usually avi. (an no there not porn lol) , i understand 1,2, an 3 that you posted but i've been using the program for 2 years now an i've never had an issue like this with the program, ive only found that certain ips may download alittle slower than others. maybe its just time for a reformat, that usually seems to fix the majority of program problems that ive ran into an it looks like thats what ill have to do. the only changes i know i made to my computer was a windows update an im thinking i might have updated something thats caused the program to not work correctly. ill post back after i do a reformat an let you know if that resolved the issue but thanks for taking time to reply back to me an trying to help, i appreciate it.
