hi,
just purchased.. so far so good.

ok, so understand that the ip being displayed to the website is from a proxy server, but what does the user's ISP see and record? does the ISP just see that a computer hooked to their network is visiting this proxy server site? and what about their tracking of bandwidth uploads/downloads? would they still record all upload/download activity, but rather than having a list of IP addresses where all these specific downloads are coming from, would they just see the proxy server IP that hidemyip assigns and then the total download amounts allocated to that?

thanks!

You may want to review this link in terms of what Hide My IP 2009 can do, and its new features:

not the least of which is 128-Bit SSL Encryption to stop your ISP from spying on you and knowing where you are going. Secure encryption for all your internet activity to protect your online privacy. Perfect for public WiFi hot spots.

Hide My IP 2009 doesn't hide your bandwidth usage. They may not know what site you're going to, but they will still know you're downloading something.

thanks doug,
great product and thanks for information. i did read that pre-sales, but just wanted to clarify.

also, noticed today, i was not able to view videos on youtube from one proxy server that i had chosen, but then chose another (different part of the USA) and had no problems. is this because youtube and/or other sites like this, block some proxies and not others?

thanks-

Some of our IP addresses may be slower than others. When that happens, the buffer loading can slow down to a crawl.
You do the right thing, just switch to a faster IP address.
