I have the paid version of Hide My IP, and I know it doesn't always work when FF upgrades, but I can usually solve the problem by going to the FAQ page and re-loading the add-on for FF.

However, yesterday FF upgraded to version 3.0.8 and even though Hide My IP is showing as a valid add-on, and the proxy IP is showing in "Connections" and in my Start menu, it's not working on web pages.

Help?

What does this mean: "the proxy IP is showing in "Connections" and in my Start menu, it's not working on web pages."?
There should never be any need to configure any settings in Firefox while using Hide My IP.

The FAQ states that the Connection should be checked to make sure the proxy is not being blocked by a firewall. I verified that it was not.

We just tested Firefox 3.0.8 using www.IPchicken.com and Hide My IP 2009 was working correctly and the IP address properly hidden. We used a UK IP address for this test.

Hello,

The best solution is to download FoxyProxy and put the setting on
'Proxy Satandard for all URL's'

Let me know if this helps .

I still have the 2008 version of Hide-My-IP, and with Foxy Proxy it now appears to be stable and working. Thank you, Albert.

Two problems with Mozila Firefox:

1. Hide My IP does not work with Mozila Firefox 3.0.8 Portable Edition:

Mozila Firefox 3.0.8 Portable Edition

2. Hide My IP suddenly started generating error messages alarming that it can not find Mozila Firefox installation files. How to tell Hide My IP that I have not Mozila Firefox installed, I use Mozila Firefox Portable in very rare occasions, so I unchecked Firefox option in Advanced Settings & Options.

Thanks. unsure.gif

Firefox portable is not an approved browser, yet.
