Make sure that the following settings are configured in your software under advanced settings:
(You should completely exit your browser before doing these and that you are not hiding your IP with our software)

2. Under "Enable Hide My IP For Selected Browsers":
a. make sure all browsers are selected
b. make sure "Enable Other Known Browsers" is selected
3. Select Use Hide My IP Network
- For 2009 users, select Advanced Settings; IP Address Tab and then select Use Hide My IP Network
- For 2007 and 2008 users, Under IP Address Preferences make sure you have Hide My IP Network
4. Click "apply"
5. Click "ok"
6. On the Main Panel of the software, turn *off* the Premium Hide Speed Service (if you have it).
7. Click "Hide IP" button

If the above settings are correct, and you are still constantly getting the "Searching for An Available IP" message, please carefully review the following:

When the software is constantly searching for an IP address, it is the result of one (or all) of these areas;

1. Your anti-virus and/or firewall program is somehow blocking our software from gaining access to the Internet. Please be certain that hidemyip.exe is an "allowed" program in your anti-virus and/or firewall programs.

2. You have other "hide IP" software that is causing a conflict with Hide My IP

3. If you have "discarded" too many IP's, none will be available to you

4. Your are behind a "corporate firewall". This usually occurs if our software is installed on a computer located within a corporate environment. You'll need to check with IT Manager/Administrator to determine how the software can get through that firewall

5. Your computer system is connected to another (corporate or personal) server. If this is the case, our software will not work

6. You live in a country in which:
a. that country uses a proxy server in order to route its traffic or monitor its citizens Internet activity or
a. that country has banned, or blocked, access to our website and/or database or
b. the Internet service provider in that country is not allowing access to our website and/or database

7. You have a serious issue with your Operating System and/or Registry that needs to be repaired

We most likely can assist you if numbers 1, 2 and/or 3 are the reason. Write to staff@hide-my-ip.com
Reasons 4, 5, 6 and 7 are beyond our control.

If you have the Premium Service, make sure you try to obtain an IP address from each of the different countries on the drop down menu. If you cannot get an IP address from any country, then any of the above reasons may apply.

NOTE: If you are able to get an IP address from some countries, but not others, then the IP servers may be temporarily under repair or maintenance.

In some instances, if you have the Hide My IP software set to start when you boot up your computer and your computer is on a wireless network, the software may have a problem connecting to the Internet on boot up.
