What is the benefit of hiding User Agent information? Can that information be used to identify a specific computer at all?

Thanks.

Hiding the User Agent prevents other web sites from seeing (or gathering information on) your operating system, browser version or installed software.

The informationc can be used to narrow down what computer is visiting a web site by a combination of the information that is gathered.

Yes, it can slow down your browsing on certain websites but it does not slow down your overall browsing.
