I have the Premium Service, with the IP set to change every minute, and Smartswitch selected, and I have de-selected the one France IP address that comes up, 94.23.40.172, yet it still uses this IP address. What am I doing wrong?

When you say "deselected" I'm presuming you mean that you're clicking the red "X" at the top of the browser in order remove the IP address from not appearing again.

You need to check whether or not that IP address shows up under Advanced Settings, IP Address, Discarded IP's

It does show up there - but the "hide my ip" application still uses that IP address, even though it shows up under Advanced Settings, IP Addresses, Discarded IP's. why is it doing that?

Do you have "Always use the same IP address checked"?
If not, try a complete re-install and see what happens.

Hi Doug:

So I did a reinstall. I did not "uninstall" first - I just double clicked the executable again, and ran the install process. Is that what you meant by a reinstall? Anyway - it is still using that one IP that I "Discarded". Not terribly often - but still it is using it.

Is there something more I need to do to have it stop using that ONE ip address?

Thanks for your help.

Hi Doug:

So I followed the uninstall / reinstall directions to the tee. However...this function (discarded Ip function) is still not working. I have it set to [premium service] Random Location, and it continues to want to go to the 1 IP address that you have in France, though I have discarded it multiple times, by clicking on the red X next to it when it comes up...and I have checked - it is indeed in the "discarded IP's" box in the advanced settings. So clicking on the red X does put it in the discarded IP box, but the program still calls up that IP address even though I have told it not to.

Any other ideas?

Thanks.

1. Exit your browser
2. Stop hiding your IP with the software
3. Completely exit the software by right clicking on the small icon on the bottom right of your screen (sys tray)
4. Left click on "exit"

Then bring back the software; find a faux IP and then bring up your browser and see how that goes.

Hi Doug:

So I just tried that, step for step, and no luck, it still continues to call up that one FRANCE IP address. In fact, after taking those steps - the first address it called up after starting my browsers was that FRANCE address, so I hit the red X next to it (even though that IP address is in the "discarded IP addresses" box, to "re-add" it, and moments later - it still called up that address.

Are you sure this function works?

Many thanks for your suggestions thus far. Let me know what else I need to do. Thanks!

The function definitely works but it appears you may have a "stuck" IP address.
Write to staff@hide-my-ip.com with your real IP address (don't post it here) with a description of the problem.
I'm fairly certain we can resolve it that way.
