How may I upgrade to Hide My IP 5.0, the latest release?
If you have purchased Hide My IP within 30 days of the release of Hide My IP 5.0, you are entitled to
a free upgrade. You are also eligible for a free upgrade if you have
had an active Premium Service subscription for at least 5 months during the
year of 2009. Otherwise, you may
upgrade your license key for only $19.95 USD.
What is new in version 5.0 and what do I get from upgrading?
This question is best answered on our "What's

Why is it called Hide My IP 5.0 and not 2010?
We are proud to announce that Hide My IP v5.0 is the 5th generation of our award winning privacy software! You can
think of version 5.0 as version 2010. The change in naming format now allows
us to release major software updates during the year of purchase and into
the next year more easily. As a customer of Hide My IP 5.0, you will
be entitled to free minor version updates during the year of 2010.
Can I upgrade Cookie Crumble?
At this time Cookie Crumble 2009 is the latest version, we will offer an upgraded version later in the year. However, Hide My IP v5.0 will work
seamlessly with Cookie Crumble 2009.
Can I downgrade my license key to work with old versions of Hide My IP?
If you have purchased a Hide My IP v5.0 license, it will also be
compatible with the previous releases of the software Hide My IP 2007,2008,
and 2009. Your key will not be compatible with Hide My IP 1.9.
I get a message that I need to install the .Net Framework to
run Hide My IP.
The .Net Framework from Microsoft is a required component of Hide My IP
and is installed by default on Windows Vista and Windows 7. Resolve
this issue by installing the
.Net Framework 2.0 then you may install Hide My IP.
Does Hide My IP work on my Mac computer?
We have released a separate version of
Hide My IP for Mac
systems compatible with OS X 10.5 and 10.6.
